BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Genex acquires pain intervention program provider

Disability management services company Genex Services L.L.C. said Thursday that it has acquired Prium, which provides chronic pain intervention programs and utilization review services with a focus on the workers compensation market.

Based in Atlanta, Prium was a unit of Ameritox Ltd., a prescription drug monitoring specialist. Michael Gavin will continue as Prium’s president, Genex Services said in a statement.

“Prium is well known in the market for the expertise and experience they bring in addressing chronic pain and opioid-related issues,” Delphia Frisch, Philadelphia-based chief operating officer and executive vice president of Genex, said in the statement. “Bringing together the leading provider of narcotic interventions with Genex’s broad and deep clinical expertise will enable Genex to deliver the most powerful opioid and chronic pain management solution in the industry.”

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Genex did not return calls seeking comment.
