Best upgrades Scor

A.M. Best Co. Inc. upgraded French reinsurer Scor S.E.’s financial strength rating to A+ from A on Friday.
“The rating upgrades reflects Scor’s track record of strong and resilient operating profitability and its very strong risk-adjusted capitalization,” the Oldwick, New Jersey-based rating agency said in a statement.
Paris-based Scor has posted strong and stable results over the past five years, “proving resilient to the prevailing competitive market conditions in the global reinsurance sector and the persisting low interest rate environment,” Best added.
The reinsurer has also strengthened its position in the market and increased its scale, Best said.
