Takaful sector grows nearly 8.5% in Oman

Oman’s insurance regulator, the Capital Market Authority, said that the country’s takaful sector grew nearly 8.5% in 2016, accounting for 9% of gross premiums at 42 million Omani rials ($109 million), Oman Tribune reported. The Omani insurance market has shifted to new phases of development in the form of diversified products, which are commensurate with the needs of the market, the regulator said.
