Liberty Specialty Markets names new leader

Liberty Specialty Markets, a unit of Liberty Mutual Holding Co. Inc., on Wednesday said President and Managing Director Nick Metcalf has handed over leadership of the company to Matthew Moore, formerly group chief underwriting officer.
The London-based specialty and commercial insurer and reinsurer said in a statement that the move had been planned for years. Mr. Moore, who is now president and managing director, has been with Liberty for 15 years, joining in 2002 as a political risk underwriter. He is based in London.
Mr. Metcalf joined Liberty Syndicate Management (Liberty Syndicates) in 2007 as CEO. A company spokesperson had no information on Mr. Metcalf's future plans.
