Qatar Insurance to launch IPO in Oman

Qatar Insurance Co. S.A.Q.'s subsidiary Oman Qatar Insurance Co. S.A.O.C. plans to offer 25 million shares through an initial public offering on the Muscat Securities Market, Gulf Times reports. The country's law requires non-listed national insurers to offer at least 25% of their share capital to the public through IPOs. Khalifa Abdullah Turki al-Sebaie, chairman of Qatar Insurance, said that the move will strengthen the group's position in the Oman market.
