Magnitude-6.1 quake strikes central Peru

A magnitude-6.1 earthquake struck central Peru on Aug. 14, Financial Express reported citing Agence France-Presse. The Geophysical Institute of Peru said that the epicenter of the quake was located 67km northeast of the city of La Merced at a depth of 15km. There were no initial reports of damage or injuries, however, some areas lost power and phone service.
