BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Ohio workers comp bureau issues rebates

Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation rebates for private and public employers began going out this month, the agency announced.

The proposed rebates totaling $1 billion began going out in early July and will continue to be mailed in batches through early August, according to a BWC spokesman.

BWC first announced the rebate in March. The rebate is the third such rebate since 2013, a BWC spokesman said.

The rebate for private employers and public-taxing districts will total approximately $1 billion, including an estimated $967 million to private employers and $133 million to public employer taxing districts. In total, more than 200,000 employers will receive rebates, the BWC spokesman said.

BWC will also invest $44 million over two years to improve wellness and safety for workers. This includes a new wellness program, funding for specific programs to help firefighters and those who work with children and adults with disabilities, and an education campaign to address common injuries at work and in the home, according to fact sheet from BWC.
