Policyholders who renewed their directors and officers insurance policies in both this year and last year’s first quarters saw a 4.4% decrease in price per million in 2017, according to Aon Risk Solutions’ quarterly D&O pricing index report.
The average price for $1 million in limits decreased 8.7% vs. the prior-year quarter, according to the report.
A total of 51% of primary policies renewing with the same limit and deductible had a price decrease, while 25% had a price increase, according to the report. The overall price charge for primary policies renewing with the same limit and deductible was an 0.8% increase.
A total of 91.8% of primary policies renewed with the same limit; 92.9% renewed with the same deductible; and 95.3% renewed with the same insurer, said the report.
Pricing for directors and officers liability insurance decreased for both the fourth quarter of 2016 and the entire year, with little change in coverage or movement between insurers, says Aon Risk Solutions in its quarterly D&O pricing index report for fourth quarter 2016.
