BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Chef Bobby Flay files lawsuit over uncomfortable couch

Among the busiest top celebrity chefs and a renowned restaurateur, Bobby Flay also wants a comfortable couch to rest upon, per a lawsuit he filed this month against a custom furniture maker.

The suit, made public Monday and filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York on June 8, accuses furniture maker Jamie Stern Design of creating a $19,000 custom sectional leather sofa that is “intolerably uncomfortable to sit on for any extended period of time.”

Mr. Flay purchased the couch in February 2016 and “despite numerous complaints by the plaintiff, defendant failed to either repair the Sofa or reimburse plaintiff for the cost of the unusable Sofa,” the suit states.

The suit also claims that the furniture-maker has violated an "implied warranty" by selling a couch that “could not be used for this ordinary purpose for which a sofa is used.” He is asking for $19,046.35 in damages “plus pre-judgement and post-judgement interest … with the costs and disbursements of this proceeding.”
