Quake damage rises to nearly $10 million in Mexico

Mexico's Secretariat of Communications and Transportation said that the 7.0-magnitude earthquake, which struck the Mexico-Guatemala border on June 14, caused an estimated $9.5 million in damage, Mexico News Daily reported citing El Universal. Authorities said that more than 200 houses and 27 schools were either totally or partially damaged, with the municipality of Huixtla suffering maximum losses.
