Cyber attacks rise 400% during tax time

Australia-based cyber security firm MailGuard Pty Ltd. said that cyber attacks and phishing scams against local businesses increased 400% as firms file taxes ahead of the June 30 deadline, SmartCompany reported. Craig McDonald, chief executive of MailGuard, said that in the 18-day period between May 29 and June 15, the company intercepted more than 15 "significant" attacks of varying sizes.
