BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Cleveland-based brokerage Britton Gallagher said Friday that it had been acquired by Caledonia, Michigan-based Acrisure L.L.C.

Britton Gallagher will retain its name and continue to operate with its current Cleveland-based team. According to its website, Britton Gallagher is a property/casualty and employee benefits broker and its specialties include life sciences, management liability and pyrotechnics.

The deal will give Britton Gallagher access to a range of support, including capital funding and access to the Acrisure network, a Britton Gallagher statement said.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

“Through Acrisure, we will now have access to a global network along with expanded resources to serve as a greater client advocate,” Britton Gallagher president Jeremy Bryant.

Acrisure is the 14th largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking, and has grown rapidly via acquisitions over the past several years.

Last month Chicago-based Optis Partners L.L.C. said that Acrisure completed 29 transactions in the first quarter of 2017.
