London-based law firm Clyde & Co. said Wednesday it is expanding its Latin American presence with the opening of its first office in Mexico, thorough its merger with Mexican law firm Garza Tello & Asociados S.C.
The Mexico City-based law firm specializes in insurance, marine and energy law in Mexico, according to the statement.
Clyde & Co. said the merger, which is pending regulatory approval, provides it with “market-leading Mexican capabilities across a number of complementary sectors, such as wider Latin American expertise.” The law firm also has offices in Brazil and Venezuela.
Pembroke, Bermuda-based Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. said Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Joseph Henry will retire at year-end and Peter Vogt, chief operating officer of its insurance unit, will succeed him.
