Law firm hires professional liability defense attorneys from rival

London Fischer L.L.P. on Monday said three professional liability defense attorneys have left rival law firm Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman & Dicker L.L.P. to join its New York office.
Effective immediately, Tom Leghorn will become the head of London Fischer’s professional liability defense group, which defends architects and engineers, employment practices claims and accountants malpractice claims, New York-based London Fischer said in a statement.
Mr. Leghorn ran the professional liability defense practice at his former firm and was the chairman of its intellectual property and cyber practice teams. He also is a former member of the Wilson Elser executive committee and the former managing partner of that firm’s New York office.
Mr. Leghorn and Ernie Tonorezos, who is also leaving Wilson Elser, will become partners at London Fischer and be joined by Sheryl Parker, of counsel.
Mr. Leghorn, Mr. Tonorezos and Ms. Parker will continue to specialize in the defense of attorneys, as well as internal investigations for clients. The team also will maintain its practice in defending insurance agents and brokers and securities broker-dealers, along with defending clients against cyber liability claims, London Fischer said in the statement.
“As our professional liability coverage practice has grown, our clients have insisted on specialized practice groups and asked the firm to increase our litigators in professional liability defense,” Bud London, London Fischer’s managing partner, said in the statement. “Tom Leghorn, Ernie Tonorezos and Sheryl Parker are outstanding and accomplished attorneys in the professional liability field.”
