BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Practice group aims to help employers control comp costs

Hanover Stone Partners L.L.C. said Friday that it has launched WorkersComp Guard, a national practice group to help employers manage workers compensation costs.

Barry E. Thompson will lead the new practice, the New York-based risk management services firm said in a statement. He is based in Watertown, Connecticut.

WorkersComp Guard will function as a consultative practice that utilizes the expertise of senior advisers and partner companies at Hanover Stone Partners, according to Mr. Thompson.

“It can involve an assessment that would combine data … that would be coupled with a reviewing of claims files,” Mr. Thompson said Friday. “We validate issue that are causing problems or causing good outcomes and we recast the employer's program and their process internally based on what we see is going to work.”
