BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Hartford launches student apprenticeship program

The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. said Tuesday that it has launched an apprenticeship program to prepare students for careers in the insurance industry.

Hartford has partnered with the Connecticut Department of Labor, Arizona Department of Economic Security, Hartford, Connecticut-based Capital Community College and Tempe, Arizona-based Rio Salado College for the program.

The program will offer “an insurance-specific curriculum, paid on-the-job training and mentoring to equip students for key customer-facing roles in The Hartford’s claims operation,” Hartford said in a statement.

In addition, students completing the two-year program will be eligible for full-time employment with Hartford, according to the statement.
