A report by Australian telecommunications firm Telstra Corp. Ltd. found that cybercrimes more than doubled in the nation in 2016, iTWire reported. More than half of businesses experienced a ransomware attack, 30% of the businesses had an email compromise and the number of distributed denial of service attacks increased by more than 200%. The report also found that nearly 60% of the businesses experienced at least one ransomware attack in 2016 and 24% experienced one attack per month.
