Scientists have said that the Gulf of Cadiz off the European coast is susceptible to earthquakes at sea which can cause a mega tsunami that devastates the coasts of Spain and Portugal, Daily Mail reported citing The Olive Press. Such an event has the potential to cause a large number of casualties and high economic losses. The lack of an early-warning system, which would allow people to prepare for an incoming tsunami, is a major concern, the scientists said.
