BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Life insurance buyers don’t want a crystal ball

Is ignorance truly bliss? This seems to be the case for most life insurance buyers.

A recent study has found that people don’t want to know about their future. More specifically, between 86% and 90% of people don’t want to know about upcoming negative events.

The Berlin-based Max Planck Institute for Human Development recently polled 2,000 people on what they would want to know about the future. The study found that people who fall into the category of not wanting to know about upcoming negative events are more likely to have life insurance and prefer to take a small loss on premiums now instead of regretting a bigger one later.
