The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. on Tuesday said it has presented 34 students with a 2017 Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program grant.
Sponsored by The Spencer Educational Foundation, the program recognizes the achievements of outstanding undergraduate and graduate risk management students. It provides students with travel expenses, hotel accommodations and registration to RIMS’ 2017 Annual Conference and Exhibition, RIMS said in a statement.
In addition, the Anita Benedetti Program has been expanded to include four grants for international students. Jing Chen and Siming Fan from Peking University in Beijing, Xinyi Huang from Fudan University in Shanghai and Ashirwad Padhee from the National Insurance Academy in Pune, India, will attend RIMS 2017 on these grants, according to the statement.
The West, Texas, fertilizer disaster that killed 15 people and other catastrophic events have culminated in changes to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Risk Management Program designed to prevent or mitigate the risks of these incidents.
