Claims administrator Crawford & Co. has named Andrew Robinson to the new position of global chief operating officer.
Based in Atlanta, Mr. Robinson will be responsible for the company’s four business units — Broadspire, U.S. services, international operations and Garden City Group L.L.C. — as well as information technology on a global basis, Crawford said Monday in a statement.
Previously, Mr. Robinson was president of specialty insurance, executive vice president of corporate development and chief risk officer at The Hanover Insurance Group Inc., according to the statement.
Mr. Robinson’s appointment comes six months after Crawford named Harsha V. Agadi president and CEO in June. He had served as interim president and CEO of Crawford since August 2015, when Jeffrey Bowman stepped down after nearly eight years at the helm.
Broadspire Services Inc. is an Atlanta-based unit of Crawford & Co., a third-party administrator that provides workers compensation and liability claim and medical management services. Broadspire President and CEO Danielle Lisenbey spoke recently with Business Insurance Reporter Joyce Famakinwa about trends in the workers comp market, the opioid epidemic and how Broadspire is helping treat workers with opioid addiction.
