Gulf Insurance Group on track to acquire AIG unit

Suleyman Sagiroglu, general manager of Kuwait-based Gulf Insurance Group K.S.C.P., has said that the insurer expects to obtain legal approval to acquire Turkish insurer AIG Sigorta A.S. from Canada-based Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. by the end of March, Middle East Insurance Review reports citing Insurance Gazette. AIG Sigorta is expected to be merged into the Gulf Insurance brand in the second half of the year.
