Taiwanese general insurers' earnings decline more than 7%

Taiwanese general insurers' earnings declined 7.3% year over year to $10.9 billion Taiwanese ($344 million) in the first 10 months of the year, Taipei Times reported. John Kuo, vice president of the Taiwan Insurance Institute, said that aggregate premium payments collected by the nation's insurers are set to reach a record high in 2016. Mr. Kuo added that general insurers' premium growth would be between 3% and 6% in 2017.
