Lloyd’s of London insurer Brit Ltd. said Thursday that Matthew Wilson has been appointed group chief executive officer, effective Jan. 1, succeeding Mark Cloutier.
Upon Mr. Wilson’s appointment, which is subject to regulatory approval, Mr. Cloutier will become Brit’s executive chairman.
Richard Ward, currently Brit’s non-executive chairman and a former chief executive of Lloyd’s, will remain on the board, assuming the role of senior independent director, and will continue as chairman of Brit Syndicates Ltd.
Mr. Wilson joined Brit in 1999. He was appointed CEO of Brit Global Specialty in May 2008. He became a member of the executive management committee in January 2009 and, in February 2015, was appointed group deputy CEO.
U.K.-based specialty insurer Brit Ltd. has opened an office in Singapore via the Lloyd's of London's Singapore platform, reported Asia Insurance Review.
