Swiss Re Ltd. on Tuesday said Mike Hudzik will head its North America casualty unit, effective Jan. 1.
He will replace Nancy Bewlay, who will remain with the company during the transition period, Swiss Re said in a statement.
Mr. Hudzik, who will be based in Armonk, New York, will also join the Americas and casualty management teams and will report directly to Steve Arora, Swiss Re’s global head of casualty underwriting.
Mr. Hudzik previously served as a Swiss Re senior vice president, overseeing casualty reinsurance treaty underwriting management for global and large clients.
Swiss Re Ltd. on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $1.2 billion, down about 14% from a year ago due to a challenging market and agricultural losses in Europe.
