The Fukushima nuclear disaster, caused by the magnitude-9.0 earthquake that struck Japan in 2011, is expected to cost more than $201 billion, NextShark reports. Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry had estimated the disaster to cost $98 billion in 2013. The latest estimate includes compensation payments of $69 billion, up from $47 billion; and decontamination costs of $43 billion, up from $21 billion.
