Hail, heavy rain and strong winds caused $100 million Australian ($74 million) worth of damage to the table grape industry in northwest Victoria, Australia, Fresh Plaza reports. "We are looking at about 2,000 hectares, about 80 growers [and] around about 2 million to 2.5 million boxes," said Jeff Scott, chief executive of the Australian Table Grape Association. "The value could be anywhere between AUD 75 million and AUD 100 million [and] we are predicting round about 10% to 15% damage across the national production," Mr. Scott added.
