Gallagher picks up benefits consultant and broker

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. said Monday that it has acquired employee benefits consultant and broker Orb Financial Services Ltd. in Surrey, England.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Orb, which was founded in 2007, offers employee benefits insurance and consulting services to commercial clients in the United Kingdom. The company has about 15 employees.

The company specializes in group risk and health care coverage, workplace pension schemes and auto-enrollment, travel and dental insurance, and key man and partnership protection for the financial services industry. Orb’s website said the company is currently working with 181 corporate clients, most of which are in the alternative asset management sector.

Director Geraint Williams and his associates will continue to operate from Surrey and report through Leslie Lemenager, head of Gallagher’s international employee benefit consulting and brokerage operations.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is the world’s fourth-largest insurance broker, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
