Chinese companies seeking foreign acquisitions are eyeing insurers as potential takeover targets, China Daily reports citing the Wall Street Journal.

All three leading bidders for Singapore-based Asia Capital Reinsurance Group Pte. Ltd. are backed by Chinese money. Chinese buyers have announced seven overseas insurance deals so far this year, with a total value of $1.86 billion.
