Brussels terror attacks cost Belgium's economy nearly $1 billion

The March Brussels terror attacks have cost the Belgian economy nearly €1 billion ($1.1 billion), reported RT.com.

Hotel, restaurant and tourism businesses were the worst hit from the attacks. The entertainment sector also lost revenue, most notably concerts promoters, carnivals and sports competitions. The country's Flanders and Wallonia regions lost €33 million and €20 million, respectively. The attack on Brussels' Zaventem Airport and Maalbeek Metro station claimed at least 32 lives.
