Insurers settle $183 million in quake claims

Fedeseg, the insurance federation of Ecuador, said that insurers have paid out $183 million in claims related to the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that hit the nation in April, reported El Universo.

Insurers have settled 15,476 claims so far and a further 13,181 claims worth $368 million are pending. The majority of claims came in from the worst-hit provinces of Esmeraldas and Manabi.
