A series of recent cyber attacks against global banks has heightened fears in the financial sector, which is becoming an increasingly attractive target for hackers, reported Mint citing Agence France-Presse.
Banks in Vietnam, Ecuador, Bangladesh and the Philippines were recently attacked by hackers targeting the SWIFT inter-bank transfer system, resulting in the theft of tens of millions of dollars. Cyber security specialists expect more attacks to become public.
