BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

European insurance groups urge U.K. to remain with E.U.

Twenty-one insurance and long-term savings associations from across Europe have signed a letter urging the United Kingdom to remain a member of the European Union in a referendum Thursday.

The London-based Association of British Insurers published the letter Tuesday.

The letter states that while the referendum is “clearly a matter for the British public to decide, there will be implications for all E.U. markets.”

“We believe it is in everyone’s interest — the U.K. and the E.U. — for the U.K. to remain,” the letter said. “And we will be watching and hoping that the result means that constructive relationship will continue with the U.K. playing a full role as a full E.U. member.”

The letter was signed by the insurance associations of Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
