Allianz expands cyber insurance team

Allianz S.E.'s specialist corporate insurer Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty has expanded its North American cyber insurance team, Allianz said in a Tuesday statement.

Chicago-based Laura Burke will serve as executive underwriter of cyber, technology, media and specialty. Previously, Ms. Burke was cyber practice leader for Lockton Cos. L.L.C. New York-based Daniel J. DeLoof will serve as senior underwriter for Allianz's cyber business. Previously, Mr. DeLoof was claims representative for professional risk — cyber, privacy network and liability claims at Ace Ltd. Atlanta-based Lester Shearn will serve as an underwriting specialist on Allianz's cyber team. Previously, Mr. Shearn was unit coordinator Axis Capital Holdings Ltd., Allianz said in a Tuesday statement.

“As data breaches and internet security have quickly become a primary concern for North American businesses, Allianz continues to invest in its talent, products and technology to meet the evolving needs of our clients and address the alarming growth of cyber risk exposures,” San Francisco-based Emy R. Donavan, regional head of cyber and U.S. deputy head of E&O said in the statement.
