BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Heavy rains, floods and landslides have cost Sri Lanka 300 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($2 billion), reported The New Indian Express citing The Sunday Observer.

About 83 people have been killed and 600,000 displaced.

A total of 125,000 houses have been damaged, while several private companies in Kolonnawa and Wellampitiya have suffered losses as their warehouses were flooded.

In Wellemptiya and Aranayake, roads, power supply systems, houses, commercial buildings and other infrastructure facilities have been damaged.
