BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Swiss Re partnership promotes health care reliability

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd. on Monday said it is teaming up with the Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare to encourage consistent, effective health care practices.

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions will offer preferential underwriting treatment in the form of premium credits to hospitals and health care organizations that use high-reliability tools like the ones created by the nonprofit Joint Commission Center, Swiss Re said in a statement.

The center was created in 2008 by the Oak Brook, Illinois-based Joint Commission, a health care quality accreditation organization.

Such tools enable health care providers “determine how near they are to zero patient harm,” Mike Midgley, vice president of health care risk engineering for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, said in the statement.

“For over 60 years, the Joint Commission has worked to improve the quality of health care,” Dr. Erin DuPree, chief medical officer and vice president of the Joint Commission Center, said in the statement. "By teaming up with the Center, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is raising awareness about the ways our tools can help eliminate patient harm, first and foremost. This can result in decreased financial and reputational risk to providers.”
