XL Catlin has named London-based Jonathan Salter as head of global property risk engineering, also known as global asset protection services.

Mr. Salter succeeds Dave Schmitz. Previously, Mr. Salter was director, global consulting at RSA Insurance Group P.L.C. and co-founded and managed Elciem Ltd, a private property risk engineering firm, XL Catlin said Thursday in a statement.

“Attracting and retaining market-leading talent is a key strategy at XL Catlin, so we are delighted to welcome Jonathan to our team. His extensive experience providing both bundled and unbundled risk engineering services gives him a real understanding of our clients’ risk management needs, making him a perfect fit for the position,” Ian France, XL Catlin’s chief underwriting officer, international property, said in the statement.
