Hartford CEO Christopher Swift begins term as insurance association chairReprints
Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.'s Chairman and CEO Christopher J. Swift will begin a one-year term as chairman of the American Insurance Association on Friday during the Washington-based insurer group's annual meeting.
Mr. Swift succeeds Michael S. McGavick, CEO of XL Group P.L.C., who is completing his one-year term as chairman.
“This is an exciting time for our industry, and I am honored to serve as chairman,” Mr. Swift said in a statement released Wednesday. “I look forward to working with the Board of Directors and AIA staff on important policy issues, such as the pace of technological change, cyber security risk and the changing regulatory environment, each of which have important consequences for consumers, our industry and the regulatory community.”
