Romanian insurance market records first year of growth since financial crisis

The Financial Supervisory Authority of Romania has said that domestic insurers underwrote gross premiums of €2 billion ($2.2 billion) in 2015, up 8% year over year, reported Romania-insider.com.

This was the first time Romania's insurance market grew since the financial crisis.

Distribution costs decreased in 2015 and compensation ratio fell by five percentage points.
