BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. pledged a donation of $450,000 toward risk management and insurance educational programs, the organization said Tuesday.

RIMS has agreed to give the Spencer Educational Foundation Inc., a New York-based nonprofit that supports risk management and insurance education, three installment payments of $150,000 per year for the next three years, the foundation said in a statement. The donation will assist the organization with costs of their part-time master’s scholarship program for risk practitioners, their summer internship program, and expenses for hosting a risk professional as a guest lecturer.

“The bright and talented new professionals and students that are entering the risk management workforce are a major reason why this profession continues to shine,” Chicago-based RIMS President Julie Pemberton said in the statement.

“None of our programs would be possible without the support of our industry partners,” Brion Callori, chairman of the Spencer Educational Foundation, said in the statement. “On behalf of Spencer and the countless students we’ve helped over the years, I would like to sincerely thank RIMS for this most generous donation.”
