6.4-magnitude earthquake strikes Philippines, Indonesia

The United States Geological Survey has said that an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 struck off Talaud islands in Indonesia, reports Channel News Asia citing Agence France-Presse.

The quake centered around 320 kilometers southeast of the Philippine city of General Santos and 300 kilometers northeast of Manado in Indonesia, said the USGS.

There are low chances of damage or causalities from the tremor, the USGS said.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said that there is no threat of a tsunami from the quake.
