Electronic insurance exchange MarketScout, Dallas, has launched a national professional liability practice.
Dallas-based Laura McCormick will serve as the senior vice president and national practice leader of the professional liability practice, MarketScout said Wednesday in a statement. She will be responsible for the development, growth, and expansion of all lines of professional liability as both a wholesale broker and a managing general agent.
Previously, Ms. McCormick was a senior broker in the professional lines division at Burns & Wilcox, according to a MarketScout spokeswoman.
“The MarketScout exchange has enabled us to successfully venture into new practice areas over the last several years,” Richard Kerr, CEO of MarketScout, said in a statement. “The key to success is securing the right leadership. We feel we have the right leader in Laura McCormick. Professional lines are a massive opportunity.”
Commercial insurance rates declined an average of 1% during September, Dallas-based MarketScout said Tuesday.
