Inga Beale, CEO of Lloyd's of London, has been named the world's most inspiring LGBT business executive for 2015 by nonprofit business network OUTstanding.
Ms. Beale, the first female CEO in Lloyd's more than 300-year history, “is one of the few — perhaps the only — openly bisexual business leaders at her level,” OUTstanding said Tuesday in a statement.
Among other things, Ms. Beale has introduced a strategic diversity and inclusion working group at Lloyd's.
Other risk and insurance professionals to make OUTstanding's 100 most inspiring lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender executives for 2015 include Jan Gooding, group brand director at London-based Aviva P.L.C.; Paul Wood, chief risk and compliance officer at Bloomberg L.P. in London; Angela Darlington, group chief risk officer at Aviva; Geoff Godwin, U.K. chief operating officer at American International Group Inc. in London; Richard Beaven, distribution director at Swinton Insurance Ltd. in Manchester, England; and Nick Major, chief underwriting officer for global corporate U.K. at Zurich Insurance Group Ltd. in London.
Inga Beale, chief executive of Lloyd's of London, has said that Lloyd's can rebalance its portfolio by welcoming alternative reinsurance capital into the market, Artemis.bm reports.
