David Lang has been appointed chief operating officer of ArgoGlobal, the Lloyd’s of London operation of Argo Group International Holdings Ltd., ArgoGlobal announced Monday.
Based in London, Mr. Lang most recently was chief data officer at Lloyd’s. He formerly was head of claims at Lloyd’s and chair of the Lloyd’s capital and planning group, which was responsible for agreeing syndicate business plans and capital requirements.
ArgoGlobal is the trading brand of multiline syndicate 1200 at Lloyd’s, which underwrites property, aerospace, marine, energy, specialty and non-U.S. liability insurance.
“To realize our targets, both for syndicate 1200 and our international office network, we require a robust and scalable platform, and competent and highly skilled individuals such as David, which will allow us to continue to move our business forward,” said David Harris, managing director of ArgoGlobal, in the statement.
Bermudan insurer and reinsurer Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. posted a profit of $27.9 million in the second quarter, down 28% from the same period in 2014, The Royal Gazette reported.
