African Reinsurance's profits boom

Nigeria-based African Reinsurance Corp.'s profit increased 90% in original currencies in the first six months of 2015, Addis Fortune reports.

The reinsurer's premium income increased 12% for the period. African Reinsurance's gross written premiums totaled $348.5 million in the first half, up 1.75% year on year. Investment income fell to $18 million from $27 million during the period.
