QBE snags senior vice president from Allianz

QBE North America, a division of QBE Insurance Group Ltd., has named former Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty executive Walter Grote senior vice president. The appointment was effective Oct. 2.
Based in Chicago, Mr. Grote will be responsible for leading QBE's commercial property/casualty insurance business, which includes small- to middle-market segments, QBE said Monday in a statement.
Previously, Mr. Grote was senior vice president and zone leader for the Midwest at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty, according to the statement.
“I am delighted to have someone with his deep industry knowledge and transformational experience leading our Commercial Insurance P&C operations as we work to build a top performing business,” QBE North America CEO Dave Duclos said in the statement.
