Damage from typhoon Ineng more than $21 million

Typhoon Ineng that recently hit Philippines has caused more than 1 billion Philippine pesos ($21.5 million) in damage in the country's Ilocos Norte province, The Manila Times reports.

The province's Disaster Risk Reduction Management and Resiliency Council said that damage to infrastructure totaled PHP 990 million. Damage to agriculture has been estimated at PHP 84 million. Infrastructure damage in the country's Cordillera region totaled about PHP 65 million, said Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council.
