ProSight Global Inc. said that it has teamed with Allied Insurance Brokers Inc. to launch a scaffold insurance program for the construction industry.
Falling from a scaffold is a major hazard for construction workers. The program is designed to provide protection for scaffold rental companies, ProSight said Monday in a statement.
The program offers access to webinars, online access to certificates and auto insurance ID cards, a free risk-management website for monthly safety meeting ideas, data compromise coverage, and discounts on background checks. It also includes workers' compensation and general liability, according to the statement.
“With more than 30 years of experience within the scaffold industry, we have seen it all and truly understand scaffold risk management,” Marty O'Brien, Allied's chairman and CEO said in the statement. “That very experience, along with ProSight's resources, allowed us to assemble a program that covers all facets of scaffolding risks."
George Davis, an official at South Africa-based Risk Benefit Solutions (Pty) Ltd., has said that infrastructure development and construction projects are at risk due to climate change, Cape Business News reported.
