LyondellBasell estimates fire damages up to $30 million

LyondellBasell Industries N.V. said that fires at two hydrocarbon tanks at its Berre cluster petrochemical plant on July 14, 2015 caused an estimated $20 million to $30 million in damages, The Street reports.

A criminal investigation is being conducted by the French authorities and therefore the company is not able to make any statement regarding the cause of the fires.

On July 15, French authorities stated that the incident is being treated as arson.

The two petrochemical plants are located near Marseilles, France.
