BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Oil washes up ashore near Barrier Reef

Reprints

Palm-sized clumps of "weathered oil" have been washed up on three beaches in Australia after a recent oil spill near Townsville, reported Brisbane Times.

Oil has washed up on Mulligan Beach on Hinchinbrook Island, on beaches on Palm Island and Forrest Beach near Ingham.

The 800-meter diameter oil spill near Cape Upstart led to the formation of an oily film stretching over 30 kilometers south of Townsville.

State and local government agencies are handling the shoreline clean-up at Forrest Beach.

Further actions are scheduled for Mulligan Beach and Great Palm Island.

National Parks and Wildlife Services officers and Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority are also co-ordinating the clean-up.

Meanwhile, oil samples have been collected from 10 ships, which were in the area close to Cape Upstart.

The vessel which spilled the oil will be tracked down using the samples.
